Beloved Students:

As you face the New Year now looming large before you, try projecting your intuition toward January 1, 2006. From this perspective, try looking back at 2005, considering what 2005 was about for you. Of course this is an interesting exercise in stretching the creative mental process, but it is also the kind of exercise that can help you step out of the tyranny many of you feel regarding the pressure you experience with the flow of time. Now, what we are really playing with here is your sense of what is possible in creating your life for 2005.

In one way of looking at it, the whole year is before you. Yet in another way of viewing, who can say what is really before you and what is behind you? In truth, it is all in how your mind defines past, present and future. You may have noticed by now that the mind is quite arbitrary in its definitions, giving in always to the powerful “spin doctoring” of the ego. In fact, the ego’s “spin” is so compelling that most people fall for its old, worn-out lines year after year after year. What if it could be different for you this year?

When you consider the turmoil and chaos which is so prevalent in the world at this time, it becomes clear that perhaps one can no longer simply take for granted the signs of the times. It is as if the entire world is strung tightly along some cosmic tension wire that is madly fraying apart. You of course, are all high witnesses to the process; but none can tell you for sure just what the process is that is happening, nor what it may all mean.

Some of you can literally feel the tension of the poles (the old vs. the new; the push vs. the pull; the haves vs. the have-nots, etc.) on the collective psyche - even to the point of feeling that your own psyche may be tearing with the strain. Even the projected division between what have been named the “red states” and the “blue states” among the alleged United States is palpable among the sensitive. It is less an issue of which side is correct than an issue of inability to experience from the perspective of another that accounts for this seeming split. Clearly, high witnesses are profoundly needed at this particular projected moment in time.

If you could live 2005 from the perspective of 2006, how might you live (i.e., create) the year differently? While there are likely many answers that might pop into consciousness, one element is almost universally true: you would be unable to go through the year in a state of bewilderment merely feeling tossed about by the stormy waves of fate. Herein lies the importance of the imagery task I asked of you in the opening sentences.

This is a great time to consider what you want 2005 to look like. Can you visualize a planet at peace with itself? Ask what might be needed for such to come about. The answer is so simple it may elude you at first. However, when you get to it, you see how obvious it is: simply stated all that is needed for a planet to be at peace with itself is people who are at peace with themselves. In truth, this is the proverbial “no brainer,” since it is impossible to have the former without the latter!

Now in truth, if you can envision a planet at peace with itself, you can create a planet at peace with itself. In other words, “if you can conceive it, you can achieve it.” What I am saying here is not some new truth or some hidden principle that only adepts are given. Rather it is how all changes are made - right down to things like quitting smoking losing weight, or increasing one’s vocabulary. We are not talking of some great unknown here; we are addressing what you already know to be true. The only thing missing in the accomplishment of this goal is the collective dedication to making it happen.

This is where creative visualization can be brought to play in a powerful (not to mention satisfying) way. Spend some important time visualizing (or knowing) what you want 2005 to look like, seeing the year in retrospect from 2006. Then live the entire year from the knowledge you gained from retrospective viewing, responding as if the year will be exactly as you saw it in your creative imagery. This is your chance to create something different in 2005. Give yourself the power to make a difference - not only in your own life, but in the life of the planet as well. After all, the life you save may, in fact, be that of your planet!

When you carefully consider your choices, I think you will see that there are basically only two: you can be proactive, becoming a part of the solution, or you can be reactive to the forces and influences you perceive to be controlling you. In this latter case, you basically remain part of the problem, for this stance is clearly one that demonstrates that you have not transcended the karmically imprinted way of seeing yourself or the world.

Far too many people live whole lifetimes in reactionary stances, blaming forces and factors they perceive outside themselves for the apparent conditions from which they suffer. There is another way to live, my friends. This is the year to assert your most positive influence upon the world around and in you. A critical mass of individuals is needed now to serve the Earth by re-dreaming, or re-viewing, what is possible on this lovely planet. Consider this: if not you, who will provide this service for the magnificent planet that has given you the gift of abundant life? If not you, who will dream the new dawn? Who will usher in this new Aquarian Age? If not you, who will celebrate the wondrous partnering of physical and spiritual planes?

Nearly all will see the abundant chaos. How many will see the great potential for transcendence? However, the fact that no single one of you can assuage the suffering of the entire world is no cause for despair. While you must accept this fact, in no way use it as an excuse for apathy or desperation. As you rise from apathy to help those who suffer so greatly at this time, do so holding the vision of their transcendence. Serve them by changing the way you see them - by changing the way you see yourself in relation to the Earth, even in the face of her terrifying demonstrations. Use difficult times to be more than you might be in times that require less of you.

Dream this New Year well; empower yourselves to be great people; live as children of the Divine, seeing yourselves as magnificent streamings of radiant brilliance, healing and wholing the very ground upon which you walk. Know the creative power of a mind at peace with itself and the world, and walk in the confidence that because many before you have discovered their true nature, so can/will you.
