Additionally, may it help you more clearly discern between ego mind and Essence mind, and may it spur you on to take the action that is needed in your life. As Lord Krishna said to Arjuna, “Get up and do your duty,” which is to say: Let’s get moving on the work of enlightenment. Likely, such will require you to take action in the world as well as in your mind. Master Djwhal Khul tells us that life is asking us to arise into our true nature. He reminds us that we are here on this planet at this time to discover our liberation. Master explains that we are not separate from our enlightenment, and that emotions are our key; all we have to do is let the emotion come, and sit with it. Don’t resist or deny it. Let the emotion arise in spaciousness, and accept that every emotion, every feeling, every sensation, and every action is the door to our enlightenment. If we can just be with the experience rather than analyze it, we can receive the spaciousness that is an open-ended opportunity for liberation.

The Great Escape is about the great lengths to which we will go to try to escape pain. We try to avoid pain by denying it, blaming others for it, or feeling like a victim because of it. Pain arises from our issues with security, approval or power – so when it arises we should ask ourselves about how these 3 “motivators” may be driving our personality. Our bodies are wired to avoid pain, but our minds can be trained to just be with pain. Healing comes when one can learn to acknowledge pain, sit with it, and move toward it. Use the safety of your love to teach others how to deal with their pain. Learning how to sit with, and experience pain, allows one to go free.

The Longest Journey is the one from our heads to our hearts. If one desires to “take up residence in the Palace of the Heart” then one needs to dissolve the sense of “I” that comes from one’s Ego.

Dissolving the sense of self requires a re-education of the mind,
and a “ruthless investigation” into what the mind is thinking. The main attribute of the heart is all-embracing compassion. Compassion is not a feeling; it is a decision to be soft.

Master suggests several traveling companions to help us on our journey – mantras, meditation, and getting into Essence Mind through questions.

Master Djwhal Khul teaches that if one wants to achieve “unsurpassable enlightenment,” then one must learn to generate “the three little mountains” of altruism, compassion and wisdom. Altruism means a state of being where there is no separation between “self” and “other.” Compassion means developing an understanding that we all suffer. Wisdom means seeing emptiness and knowing that nothing is as it appears. Transcendence, and cutting through illusions, requires that we learn to replace the three “motivational elements that drive us” (our need for security, approval or power) with the “Three Little Mountains.”
